Background
The Syrian conflict, now in its sixth year, has led to a mass exodus of nearly 5 million people who have sought refuge primarily in neighbouring countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) such as Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt, and OECD countries such as Turkey, Germany, Sweden, and Austria.
